We offer a unique service to you in that we are Personalized. Because all of our clients' needs are different we tailor our service to suit you. We have arranged thousands of housekeeping services so perhaps some of our experiences and Housekeeping cleaning tips and tricks, may be of help to you.

We encourage you to be there to meet your housekeeper for the first visit - at least long enough to show them your home room by room. You should point out where all the equipment and supplies are kept. It helps greatly for you, to make a brief list of your priorities - these may vary from visit to visit. Housekeepers will do just about anything they can to help you - just ask.

Example of your priorities

Kitchen - Sweep & mop floor; polish appliances; put dishes in dishwasher or wash.

Bathroom - Clean washroom; wash shower & tub; clean mirrors; put out clean towels.

Bedroom - Change sheets; make beds; dust & vacuum.

Living room - Dust & polish furniture; vacuum.

Extras - Ironing; set dining table; prepare vegetables.

Your housekeeper can also do many extras for you - for example; Put on a roast; polish silver, brass, copper etc; prepare tables for parties; sweep out patio; wash laundry (all items should be pre-sorted and pockets checked); clean out or organize closets... the list is endless.

If you are not able to be there for your first service, please call mid-morning to check to see that your housekeeper has found everything she needs, and that all is well and of course remember to leave your detailed priority list (by room if possible).

If a housekeeper has not been to your home for sometime, or your home is larger than 2,000 sq.ft you may want to arrange for 5 or more hours.

Communication has become an over-used word, probably because we all need to improve on this skill. Let us hear from you and we will sincerely try to meet your needs. If you are happy, tell a friend - we offer you a free service for any referral.

Do you need any cleaning tips ? Ask your housekeeper. They have experienced most cleaning issues during their careers. Do you have the necessary supplies ? Your housekeeper can offer suggestions and/or preferences. We list a few suggested products below, which may serve as a guide. Make certain your vacuum is in good working order and that your housekeeper knows where the extra bags are kept. Arrangements should be made so that children are not under foot. The housekeeper should be notified of any previous appointments regarding delivery men, pool maintenance, etc., as they are instructed not to let anyone into your home without prior permission from you. Pets should be introduced on the first visit. Any dogs not used to strangers should be kept outside. For health & safety reasons housekeepers are unable to clean up after pets. If necessary, the alarm system should be explained to your housekeeper.

If there is any "heavy-type" work to be done (windows, washing walls, garage & garden clean-up etc.), please notify the office and we can book a separate appointment for that work.

Cleaning tip - windows

Green cleaning is big news these days, and for good reasons. As more and more people learn about the dangers of using chemicals in their homes, they are turning to more natural methods of cleaning and reduce their exposure to chemicals present in commercial cleaners. Add to that, homemade cleaners are often less expensive than store-bought ones; especially products labeled organic or natural. One of the best cleaning tips is to use Vinegar. It is inexpensive and about as natural as you can get.

If you want clean clear windows vinegar is a great choice. You're not sacrificing it's performance as a great window cleaner in favor of its price. House cleaning professionals know the power of vinegar when it comes to getting a crystal clear shine on your windows and sliding glass doors – not to mention it cleans shower doors too. Oh, and don’t forget half a teaspon of liquid soap. That’ll help break down any residue of previously used chemical cleaners and will leave you with a smear-free finish.

Cleaning tip - Bathroom tiles and grout

Bathroom tile and grout can get really dirty. It is one of the most labor-intensive jobs we do when house cleaning. Tiles get mold and mildew in the grout (not to mention soap scum and body oils), when not cleaned regularly.

Use these tips to make bathroom tile cleaning a breeze. There’s no need to buy a specialty cleaner. Clean the ceramic tile with a mixture of cleaning solutions you already have at home:

1/2 cup of ammonia; 1/2 cup of plain white vinegar; 1/4 cup of washing soda; 1 gallon of warm water.

Cleaning tip - How to get rid of mold and mildew

If you're having trouble getting rid of mold and mildew, you're not alone. Mold and mildew can be the bane of any bathroom scrubber's existence. That's because mold and mildew thrive in dark, damp places with soap scum as a food source. In most cases, all you need to get rid of mold and mildew is vinegar and baking soda. In more extreme cases, you may need to break out the chlorine bleach.

Mold and mildew feed on soap scum, which is why it begins to grow so quickly. To kill the mold and mildew, start by using a mixture of white vinegar and water. Pour 1/2 cup of each into a spray bottle and shake. Spray on all of the surfaces in the shower, let stand for 5 to 10 minutes and then wipe down with a damp sponge.

Until someone invents a way for us to dry clean ourselves in the shower, mold and mildew will be a problem. Quicker than you can turn off the water and grab a towel, mold begins to grow on the walls, floor and the door. If you have a shower curtain instead of a door, it will begin to grow there, too.

Cleaning tip - Removing cigarette odors

If you've recently quit smoking, congratulations! One of best ways to stay quit is to spend a few hours on removing the odors of cigarette smoke. Once you realize how much better your home, clothes and car smell without that icky smoke, you'll never want another cigarette again.

Your first task: Throw away the ashtrays. They never really get clean and you don't need them anymore!

There's nothing better than fresh air to remove smoke odors. Letting a fresh breeze in the home will go along way to eliminating it. Febreeze spray will also work well when used on furniture. You can sprinkle baking soda on dry carpets to absorb stubborn odor. Let it sit overnight then vacuum thoroughly.
